On the first Sunday of every month, the Asian Art Museum is open for free. Sponsored by Target, the exhibits are accompanied by singers and performers. They also offer hands-on art activities for children, including creating orgami, a signature chop and a tote bag.

The Asian Art Museum is located in the original Main Library. The exhibits include art and artifacts from Pacific Rim. The exhibit include several jade collections. The museum also included "Drama and Desire" which was a series of paintings and scrolls of Edo, Kyoto and Osaka. Many of the paintings illustrated the life of courtesans and to a lesser extent, geishas.

This post also talks about a performance of T. Broussard's Zydeco band.
